Growth MindsetAs parents, you've probably heard the words "growth mindset" a lot lately. At CAI, we work to develop a growth mindset in students. We talk about it in the classroom and have shared videos and activities with students to help develop a growth mindset. Sr. Hidaayah also held a parent workshop on this topic earlier in the year for parents who were able to attend.
A growth mindset is pretty much exactly what it sounds like: a tendency to believe that you can grow. Conversely, a "fixed mindset" assumes that our character, intelligence, and creative ability are static givens which we can't change in any meaningful way. A growth mindset thrives on challenge and sees failure not as evidence of unintelligence, but as a springboard for growth and for stretching our existing abilities.
